Good idea listening to your body for naps and prolonging the nighttime sleep! Since a full cycle of sleep is around 90 min, you’ll get three full cycles done in 4,5h. I try to sleep by the 1,5h cycles, depending on how much time I have until I have to wake up – 1,5; 3; 4,5; 6; 7,5. The idea is that you wake up much better rested at the end of the cycle than you do waking up during one – that is when you’re feeling tired and in need of more sleep (till the end of the cycle). It has worked for me for almost 20 years, so I hope you might have some success with it as well πŸ™‚

      Thanks!
After shooting this video one of my training partners said that you should try to wake up at the end of the sleeping cycle. Why hadn’t I thought it myself? πŸ™‚ He said that the cycle is 2 hours and I should sleep 4,6 or 8 hours. Later on that day, I remembered that the cycle should be 90 minutes. So I went online to search which one is correct πŸ™‚ And yeah the cycle is 1,5 hours so I’m sleeping 4,5 hours.

The best would be to use a phone app though. It will notice the body movement when you are asleep. In deep sleep, your body is still and when you get restless, it’s good time to wake up. You can set the alarm with a window. For example from 4 am to 5 am and then the app will wake you up at the best time.
Cannot use the app though as I’m not sleeping alone at the moment.
